Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant

We are seeking a positive and proactive Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant to support our internal Bookkeeper & BAS Agent.

Your expertise and dedication will ensure that all client tasks are completed timely, accurately, and professionally. You will work closely with our clients to ensure their business and bookkeeping requirements are managed efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with bookkeeping and administrative tasks for a growing client base, including:

  • Processing payroll, purchase orders, invoices, and statements
  • Managing accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP)
  • Chase outstanding invoices including debt collection processes
  • Performing reconciliations and generating reports
  • Assist with superannuation, CoInvest, and BAS requirements
  • Preparing end-of-month reports, including KPI tracking
  • Creating Excel spreadsheets
  • Create and manage our clients Company Policies
  • Create and manage Employment Contracts, including performance review dates
  • Managing and monitoring apprenticeship application and rebates
  • Implementing new procedures and operational efficiencies for business improvement
  • Work closely with clients to understand and manage their business and bookkeeping requirements efficiently and professionally
  • Build strong relationships with clients, consistently delivering above and beyond their expectations

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in reconciling income and expenses
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Office (Word, Excel)
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
  • Thorough attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to different clients’ needs quickly
  • Willingness to learn new software
  • Experience with Xero accounting software

Note: There will be a training period at the start of this position, with these hours paid at a reduced rate. This role may begin on a casual basis with expected hours of 15-30 per week, with the potential to become permanent part-time for the right candidate.
